Thigh lift in Dortmund

The thighs are among the most common problem areas. This is because they are among the regions where the human body lays down an emergency reserve of fat cells for possible times of crisis. What seems like good provision for the body, however, is anything but advantageous in the perception of our patients.

Thigh lift in Dortmund: all steps at the Westfalenklinik

From the first consultation through the operation to the final check-up, your thigh lift stays at the Westfalenklinik in Dortmund. The specialist clinic for plastic and aesthetic surgery has been at the same location in Rosemeyerstraße for 25 years and does not rely on external surgical centres, private-bed clinics or hospital departments for care after the operation. After the procedure, our own qualified staff trained in emergency medicine look after you, also at night; a personal contact person accompanies you through all appointments.

The clinic is located at Rosemeyerstraße 2–4, directly on the B1/A40 and in the immediate vicinity of the Signal Iduna Park. By car, take the Dortmund-Hombruch exit on the B1 and park on the building’s parking deck directly in front of the entrance. From the main station, take the U45 to Stadtgarten and continue with the U42 to Theodor-Fliedner-Heim; from Dortmund Airport it is about 12 km via the B1.

Attractive thighs have only limited connection with physical exercise

The thighs are among the most common problem areas. This is because they are among the regions where the human body lays down an emergency reserve of fat cells for possible times of crisis. What seems like good provision for the body, however, is anything but advantageous in the perception of our patients. A thigh lift can counteract this.

Athletic, slim legs have become an ideal of beauty. But even regular exercise and a healthy diet cannot stop the natural ageing process. Over time, the skin loses elasticity and becomes loose. Unfortunately, this also becomes visible on the thighs, and especially on the inner sides.

When a thigh lift makes sense: substantial weight loss is a frequent reason for excessively loose skin

In addition, other influences, such as substantial weight loss, can also lead to loose skin. Even though our body is a master of adaptation, unfortunately it does not manage to retract the skin completely. It is also not uncommon for skin irritation to develop in the affected areas, because the skin rubs together when walking. In that case, a thigh lift may be an option. Get advice on the many options at the Westfalenklinik in Dortmund. Discuss your wishes and ideas together with your treating doctor and go through the procedure in detail. A detailed medical briefing is particularly important to us.

Depending on the desired result, the treatment can also be combined with liposuction, for example for saddlebags, or with tightening of the buttock skin (body lift). Our doctors will of course give you all the important information on this as well. You can read why the thighs can look loose after liposuction in the article Loose thighs after liposuction.

What exactly happens in a thigh lift?

In a thigh lift, an essential part of the procedure is removing excess skin on the legs and thereby restoring the natural silhouette. To achieve a result that is as aesthetic as possible with as little scarring as possible, there are various options for placing the incisions, depending on individual circumstances. Here, however, it always depends on the initial condition of the thighs and also on your personal wishes. Already at the first consultation, our doctors tell you which incision placement is suitable for you, how you can support wound healing and what measures you can take to further support the treatment result.

Your timeline for a thigh lift at the Westfalenklinik

This is how a thigh lift proceeds at the Westfalenklinik, from the consultation to exercise:

  1. Step 1

    Beforehand

Consultation. In the first conversation, you go through the procedure in detail with your doctor and find out which incision is suitable for you. You can book your appointment online.

  2. Step 2

    Day of surgery

The procedure. The thigh lift takes 2 to 3 hours and is carried out under general anaesthesia.

  3. Step 3

    Day 1 to 2

Home. After 1 to 2 days you leave the clinic. Have someone collect you; driving yourself is usually not yet possible then.

  4. Step 4

    Weeks 1 to 2

Moving carefully. Your movement is still somewhat restricted; our team has shown you in the clinic how best to manage movements in everyday life. After 1 to 2 weeks, you are usually back out among people.

  5. Step 5

    Weeks 2 to 3

Thread removal. The threads are removed.

  6. Step 6

    Weeks 4 to 6

Rest, then exercise. For about 4 weeks you avoid exercise, and you wear the compression garment for 6 weeks. You discuss at the check-up appointments when you can train again.

What needs to be considered in particular with a thigh lift?

Now the step has been taken – what happens next? To support the body in healing, a few things should be observed. Please wear a compression garment for 6 weeks after the operation. This keeps your legs in shape and reduces swelling, so that the scars can heal better. In the first 1 to 2 weeks, your movement is somewhat restricted.

During your inpatient stay at the Westfalenklinik, our experienced team will be happy to show you a few tricks for how best to manage movements in everyday life. In addition, you should give your body some rest for about 4 weeks after the procedure. Incidentally, you should also not do any exercise during this time. The scars must first have healed completely. At the check-up appointments, please consult your treating doctor about when physical activity is recommended again.

What does a thigh lift cost in Dortmund? Costs and financing

The cost of a thigh lift depends on the extent of the procedure. If the lift is combined with liposuction of the thighs, for example for saddlebags, or with tightening of the buttock skin, the complexity of the procedure and therefore the price increase. As part of the consultation, we prepare a cost estimate for you, with no obligation.

The Westfalenklinik’s treatment prices are final prices including statutory VAT. Overnight stay, meals, follow-up treatments and the costs of the anaesthetist are not added afterwards. Financing is possible through our financing partner, more on this under Financing your treatment.
