You can get the swallowable Elipse® gastric balloon at Westfalenklinik in Dortmund. For the insertion you come to the specialist clinic for a short appointment and then go home again; during the roughly four months our coaches accompany you, in person and via the app. A personal contact is there for you from the first consultation to the end of the treatment.
The clinic is located at Rosemeyerstraße 2–4, directly on the B1/A40 near Signal Iduna Park. By car, leave the B1 at the Dortmund-Hombruch exit and park in the building’s car park directly in front of the entrance. By public transport, take the U45 from the main station to Stadtgarten and then the U42 to Theodor-Fliedner-Heim.

How is the Elipse® gastric balloon inserted?
The principle is simple: you swallow a capsule on a thin tube, which contains the balloon. An X-ray is used to check whether the capsule is in the right place. Once the capsule is in the stomach, the doctor fills the balloon with a liquid via the tube. A second X-ray confirms that the balloon is filled. The doctor then carefully withdraws the tube. That is all, and you can leave again.

What happens to me during the dwell time?
While the Elipse® gastric balloon is in your stomach, you go through a structured coaching programme tailored to your needs. The following should be noted:
In weeks 1 to 16: With the balloon in your stomach, you can eat less without feeling hungry. You can also learn to eat healthy meals in smaller portions. Our coaches look after you throughout the entire period, with the help of the digital scales and a special digital smartphone app.
Week 16: After four months the balloon empties automatically and, in the course typical of the treatment, is excreted naturally without any medical procedure being required. You should continue to make healthy eating and lifestyle choices for long-term weight reduction.

A few days of settling in with the swallowable gastric balloon
Even with the swallowable gastric balloon it can happen that the first few days are a challenge. You may experience discomfort, feel nauseous or develop fluid deficiency. For this initial period, however, our doctors can both prescribe suitable medication and order a supply of important nutrients by infusion. It is important to drink particularly plenty during this time and to avoid very solid, fatty food.
What results are possible with the Elipse® gastric balloon?
Scientific studies are available on the Elipse® gastric balloon: a clinical study with 95 patients showed that on average 72% of the weight loss achieved with the gastric balloon could still be maintained even after 12 months. How much weight you yourself lose and keep cannot be predicted; it depends on your starting situation and your change of diet.

Why does the Elipse® gastric balloon not require a medical procedure?
Extensive medical research preceded the Elipse® gastric balloon. The result is a new material that is so light, thin and robust that the gastric balloon can be folded into a tiny capsule. The capsule is so small that you can swallow it by mouth. This means that no gastroscopy is required either.
When can I go home after the treatment?
Our patients usually leave Westfalenklinik after just 45 minutes, with no outward signs of treatment, i.e. completely unnoticed. A return to your normal everyday life is usually possible afterwards.
Is the gastric balloon enough on its own, or should I also make use of additional advice?
In a comprehensive personal consultation, we find out together whether the swallowable Elipse® gastric balloon is right for you. The basic requirements for placing an Elipse® gastric balloon, however, are good general health, a body mass index (BMI) of at least 27 and being of legal age.
How does the balloon leave the body?
After about four months, in week 16, the balloon empties automatically and, in the course typical of the treatment, is excreted naturally. No medical procedure is necessary for this.

Wow, was für ein erster Eindruck!
Dr. Frank Gruner, dessen Professionalität von jahrelanger Erfahrung zeugt, war äußerst verständlich und menschlich (was mir sehr wichtig war). Er verstand meine Bedürfnisse, und seine Erklärungen und Anweisungen entsprachen genau meinen Vorstellungen.

Ich bin rundum begeistert von meiner Erfahrung in dieser Haartransplantationsklinik. Von der ersten Kontaktaufnahme bis zur Nachsorge war alles hervorragend organisiert und professionell.
Das gesamte Team war unglaublich freundlich, hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend. Man hat sich jederzeit gut aufgehoben und ernst genommen gefühlt. Ich kann bisher nur eingeschränkt bewerten, da ich lediglich ein Informationsgespräch hatte.
Der Arzt war sehr freundlich und ruhig. Er hat meine Fragen fachlich kompetent beantwortet und mich ausführlich darüber informiert, welche Behandlung zu meiner körperlichen Konstitution passen könnte. Außerdem erklärte er mir die Prozedur sowie die möglichen Risiken.
Im Anschluss hatte ich ein Gespräch mit den zuständigen Mitarbeitenden zur finanziellen Seite. Dort wurde ich über die Kosten, eine zusätzliche Versicherung, Ratenzahlungsmöglichkeiten sowie die organisatorischen Abläufe rund um die Operation informiert.

Am Tag der Beratung hat Frau Dr simidjiiska sich außergewöhnlich viel Zeit für mich genommen.

Direkt nach der Op war sofort jemand an meiner Seite ,der regelmäßig nach mir sah.
Auch Frau Doktor Simidjiiska kam bereits nach kurzer Zeit persönlich vorbei,um sich nach meinem Zustand zu erkundigen.
Das gab mir ein großes Gefühl von Sichheiit.
Als mir nach kurzer Zeit der Verband entfernt wurde,um einen Neuen anzulegen,durfte ich einen Blick auf das Ergebnis werfen.
Trotz der noch vorhandenen Schwellung konnte ich sofort erkennen, das Resultat genau meininen Vorstellungen entspricht.
Dieser Moment hat mich bestätigt, dass ich die richtige Entscheidung getroffen habe.
Und nun ,2 Wochen nach dem Eingriff,bin ich immer noch absolut zufrieden.

Ich war für meine Augenoberlidstraffung in der Westfalen Klinik und insgesamt nur von 8 bis 11 Uhr dort – alles war bestens organisiert und lief reibungslos ab.

Hier fühlt man sich von der Erstberatung bis zur Entlassung sehr gut aufgehoben. Den Ausschlag für die Wahl dieser Klinik gab der Hinweis der Ärztin, ob ich mir über die Größe der Narben bewusst wäre. Diese Tatsache benannte sie direkt und empfahl eine andere Methode, die bei mir ausreichen würde, obwohl die gewöhnliche Hautstraffung mittels Schnitt sicherlich lukrativer gewesen wäre. Das hat mich überzeugt. Auch der Aufenthalt in der Klinik wurde so angenehm wie möglich gestaltet und es wurde auf individuelle Wünsche eingegangen. Der Kaffee der Nachtschwester morgens um 5 war das I-Tüpfelchen. ☺️

Ich habe bei Herrn Dr. Reifenrath eine Bauchdeckenstraffung mit Korrektur einer Rektusdiastase und einer Fettabsaugung durchführen lassen. Ich habe mich jederzeit gut beraten und behandelt gefühlt. Die Heilung verläuft genauso, wie es Dr. Reifenrath im Vorfeld beschrieben hat und ich war nach wenigen Tagen wieder erstaunlich fit. Die Schmerzen hielten sich in Grenzen, die Nachsorge ist sehr unproblematisch und das Ergebnis super. Das gesamte Personal, ob am Empfang, im OP, auf Station oder in den Behandlungsräumen war immer sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Ich habe mich rundum gut aufgehoben gefühlt. Vielen Dank!
